My main activity is the work on sur-mesure wooden constructions and furniture, commissioned or self-initiated. Most often in the shape of a shelf, a table, a stool, a door, or alike. Occasionally i teach on the subject of tools, in their broadest sense. In the past i have been working as a developer and typographer.
Feel free to contact me for a commission or a visit in my workshop.
Where does it come from? and now? are questions that drive my work. Sometimes, looking at a wooden shelf or table, i questions myself about its age and memory. It might have been 120 years since its oak tree started to grow. Each material, each plank of wood, carries a lived experience, you could call it time. You can see the time of this wooden plank running through the long side of a shelf, across the seat of a chair, up a doorframe's post.
Recently ---> i have been working on book shelves for the exhibition A Library of Muses at stanza in Copenhagen. These are wood structures from oak wood to show a collection of books that have been inspirational to the graphic designer John Morgan.
Last year ---> i was teaching during the summer semester at the HfG Karlsruhe in the graphic and product design departments. The course On hammers and sandcastles was an exploration of the relationship between human animals and tools. Many of the results can be found at .
